JEWELLERY CARE
Keeping your beautiful jewellery sparkling at home is simple and safe with these easy steps:
- Soak: Place your jewellery in a bowl of warm water mixed with a few drops of mild dish soap (avoid harsh chemicals or detergents) and let it soak for 10–15 minutes.
- Brush Gently: Use a very soft-bristled toothbrush to gently clean away any dirt, paying close attention to the hard-to-reach areas underneath the gemstone setting.
- Rinse & Dry: Rinse the piece thoroughly under warm running water (make sure the drain is closed!) and pat it dry with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth.
For the best results, we recommend giving your everyday pieces a quick clean once a month to keep them brilliant and shining like new
We highly recommend removing your Golden Bird Jewels pieces before showering, swimming, or going to bed.
- Showering & Swimming: Soaps, shampoos, and lotions can cause a filmy buildup on your gemstones, reducing their brilliant sparkle. Even worse, chlorine in pools and salt in the ocean can dull or erode precious metals over time.
- Sleeping: Your jewellery can easily catch on bedsheets or blankets while you toss and turn, which can loosen the delicate prongs holding your stones securely in place.
Taking your jewellery off before these activities is the easiest way to protect it from accidental damage and keep it looking flawless!
When you are not showing off your Golden Bird Jewels pieces, storing them correctly will prevent scratches and tangles. We recommend placing your jewellery in a cool, dry place, ideally inside a soft fabric-lined jewellery box.
No, precious metals like gold, silver, and platinum are not completely scratch-resistant. Because they are naturally soft, they can develop fine surface scratches over time from everyday wear and contact with harder surfaces.
To maintain their smooth finish, we recommend removing your jewelry during heavy physical activities and storing each piece separately to prevent rubbing.
RING SIZE GUIDE
The most accurate way to determine your size is to visit a local professional jewellery to have your finger measured. If you are measuring at home, you can use our printable size chart, use a plastic ring sizer tool, or measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits you perfectly. Always measure your finger at the end of the day when your hands are warm, as cold temperatures can temporarily shrink your finger size.
Most standard ring designs (like simple solitaires or classic bands) can easily be resized by a professional jewellery or by our team at Golden Bird Jewels. However, please note that certain styles, such as full eternity bands, or rings made with specific tension settings, cannot be resized without altering the integrity of the design. We highly recommend double-checking your size before ordering these specific styles.
All sizes listed on the Golden Bird Jewels website follow the Standard US Ring Sizing System. If you live outside the US and only know your local size (such as UK letters or EU numbers), please refer to our International Conversion Chart, to find your perfect US equivalent before checking out.

Warranty & Repairs
We take immense pride in our craftsmanship and want you to wear your pieces with absolute confidence. Golden Bird Jewels offers a 30 days warranty on all our jewelry against any manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. If you notice a structural issue with your piece due to how it was crafted, please reach out to us right away so we can inspect it and resolve the issue under our warranty.
If your jewelry requires maintenance or repair, please email our support team at contact@goldenbirdjewels.com or WhatsApp us at +1 (646) 574-4032 with your original order number, a brief description of the issue, and clear photos of the damaged area. Our team will review your request to determine if the repair falls under warranty or if it requires a paid service. Once evaluated, we will guide you through the next steps and provide secure shipping instructions to send your piece back to our workshop.
If our inspection confirms that the issue is due to a manufacturing defect, your repair will be completed completely free of charge, if it is under the timeline of 30 days. For damages caused by regular daily wear and tear, accidents, or sizing updates after our standard return timeline, a repair or resizing fee will apply. We will always provide you with a transparent cost estimate for approval before any physical work begins on your jewelry.
If an accent stone falls out due to a manufacturing defect within our 30-day timeline, we will replace the stone and secure the setting completely free of charge. Please note that the loss of a major center stone due to accidental damage or heavy impact is not covered under warranty, so we highly recommend securing independent jewelry insurance for total peace of mind.
Yes, we love helping you keep your jewelry looking as brilliant as the day you first opened it! We offer professional maintenance services, including deep cleaning, minor scratch polishing, and prong inspections, for a nominal service fee plus shipping costs. We recommend having your everyday rings inspected and tightened every 1 to 2 years to ensure the center stones remain perfectly secure.
DIAMOND EDUCATION
Yes. Lab grown diamonds, also known as lab created diamonds, are real diamonds. They have the same physical, chemical, and optical properties as natural, or earth-mined, diamonds. The only difference is that they are made in a controlled laboratory setting instead of the earth's crust. Both lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds are made of pure carbon crystals and have the same hardness and durability. The properties of lab grown diamonds - including cut, colour, clarity, and colour - are measured and graded the exact same way as mined diamonds.
The 4 C's of diamonds are: Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat. Diamond prices are heavily impacted by these four characteristics, and most diamonds are independently graded according to standards set by the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) in 1953. It is the universal language for diamond quality, ensuring consistency and accuracy around the world.
A diamond certificate, also known as a diamond grading report, is a document issued by an independent gemological laboratory. It provides an assessment of a diamond's 4 C's and other characteristics, ensuring transparency and aiding in value determination.
At Golden Bird Jewels all of our graded diamonds come with a complimentary diamond grading report from the International Gemological Institute (IGI) or the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). While GIA set the standards for grading diamonds decades ago, IGI is the largest provider of lab grown diamond grading reports, and is considered to be the standard for grading lab created diamonds.
While all of the 4 Cs are important, it is generally recommended to prioritize diamond cut quality over carat weight (size), as the cut has the most significant impact on a diamond's brilliance and sparkle. The choice between clarity (flawlessness) and colour (colourlessness) is more a matter of personal preference and budget. Because lab grown diamonds are grown in a controlled environment, more diamonds are often available and very affordable in high colour and clarity grades. This leaves room to focus on getting a high-quality diamond that is also larger in carat weight.
While both stones are visually stunning and created in controlled laboratory settings, they are completely different gemstones with unique mineral compositions. A lab-grown diamond is made entirely of pure carbon and is chemically, physically, and optically identical to a natural mined diamond. Moissanite, made of silicon carbide, is a distinct gemstone known for its exceptional fire and brilliance, yielding a different, more colourful light dispersion than a traditional diamond.
Both stones are exceptionally durable and perfectly suited for daily wear, such as in engagement rings. On the Mohs Scale of Hardness, diamonds are the hardest known mineral on Earth with a perfect score of 10. Moissanite follows incredibly close behind with a hardness rating of 9.25, making it harder than rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, and highly resistant to scratching or chipping.
